Some Blogging Questions

I’m getting traffic from referring urls and sites that are not other blogs and not any place I’ve visited.  One is some watch tv on the internet site.  One page won’t open at all.  Should this concern me???

How do you post pictures in your blog?
WHERE do you get the pictures from???
If I find a picture/graphic I want to use on the internet, how do I get it from there into my blog?

I’m reading a lot of posts I want to remember and refer back to.  Is it okay to make a label for posts I want to remember and link to each of them?  Do I need to leave a comment on the post I link to?

What is the difference between adding a blog to my blog roll and becoming a follower of a blog?

Why do some comments go to spam?

Thanks for the help!!

  1. Can't answer all of your questions but I know how to post a picture. Go to the picture, copy image or copy URL, go to your blog and click paste. It's pretty easy. I get most of my pictures from Google Search Images or MSN Images

I don't know about links and i am going to be reading your comments to see if anyone answers.
I also don't know the difference between followers and blog roll.

As you can see I am a techNO

  2. Is your blog roll not your blog list that runs down the side of people who's blogs you read? With followers being who follows our blog?

  3. I am most certainly not the most blog savy person and have been known to do my share of posts asking for readers help, but I might be able to answer some of your questions, so here goes.

When you follow a blog, it shows on your dashboard. If you have your blog list set to show "blogs I follow" the list that shows on your sidebar will be the same as what shows on your dashboard--all the blogs you follow. If you don't have it set up like that, you pick and choose what goes on the list and it doesn't have to be exactly the blogs you follow.

I occasionally get traffic from spam sites like the tv one you mentioned, and read a google thread that said just not to click on the links that show in your stats and it will eventually stop. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I'm a bit confused about making a label for blog posts you want to refer back to...Would the simple way be to have a post in your drafts folder with all the links in it and refer back to that whenever you want to do a post linking to them? Or are you thinking more of having something on your sidebar that links to those posts so readers can see them?
I don't think it's necessary to leave a comment on posts you link to. Though it is always a nice surprise to discover that you have been linked to and a lot of times the only way we know someone has linked to a post of ours is when that person tells us.

I think some comments go to spam because their content gets flagged. Spam comments are usually very similar to each other. Mine rarely sends non spam into the bin, but it does occasionally go crazy and start tossing random comments in there.

I hope this helps a bit. Like I said, I'm not too smooth with blogger or computers in general but I'm catching on lol. Feel free to email me if you think I can help with anything. hislittleone69@gmail.com
